BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. New statements regarding ongoing diplomatic contacts between Iran and the United States suggest that a certain degree of convergence between the two sides has been observed. According to official remarks, the current focus is on finalizing a possible memorandum of understanding.
TurkicWorld reports that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghaei stated that Tehran and Washington are currently concentrating on the process of preparing a memorandum of understanding.
According to Baghaei, some progress has been observed in the positions of both sides in recent days.
He stated:
"Over the past week, positions have become somewhat closer. We need to wait and see what happens over the next three to four days."
The Iranian official also noted that negotiations are continuing and that despite existing disagreements, the parties are still working on a framework agreement.
Analysts believe that although recent statements indicate that diplomatic channels remain open, uncertainty still surrounds the final outcome of the negotiations. The next few days could be decisive in determining the future direction of the process.
