BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 28.States, particularly major powers, have lost trust in each other, which is negatively affecting the activities of the United Nations and its institutions.
According to Kazakh media, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made the remarks during his speech at the opening session of the Kurultai, Kazakhstan’s unicameral parliament.
“States, especially major countries, have essentially stopped trusting each other,” he said.
According to the Kazakh president, against this backdrop, the UN Security Council has effectively ceased to fulfill its mission of ensuring global and regional peace, stability and security.
Tokayev noted that under the current circumstances, the role of regional international organizations is increasing.
