Turkmenistan presents renewable energy development plans in Abu Dhabi

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, September 21. The delegation of Turkmenistan presented promising plans for the development of renewable energy sources at the World Utilities Congress held in Abu Dhabi, TurkicWorld reports via Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry.

During the session "Tripling renewable energy capacity: from action plans", Deputy Energy Minister of Turkmenistan Nurmammet Nurmammedov spoke in detail about current initiatives and the country's future in the field of renewable energy.

The event also included a meeting with Francesco La Camera, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), where joint projects and technical assistance in the field of renewable energy were discussed.

Turkmenistan presented its goals for the period 2025-2030 and reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation with IRENA. In turn, the IRENA Director-General expressed his readiness to support the increase of Turkmenistan's renewable energy ambitions within the framework of NDC 3.0.

The Turkmen delegation also took part in a session on the role of renewable energy in the future and financing methods involving the private sector, which emphasized the importance of sustainable development and international cooperation in this area.

To note, the congress gathered more than 1,400 delegates from over 90 countries, including ministers and representatives of international organizations. The event was opened with the participation of the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, who emphasized the importance of joint efforts to address global water challenges and improve resource management.
