BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan has seen a trickle of appeals concerning the snap parliamentary election, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov said during today’s CEC meeting in Baku, TurkicWorld reports.
According to him, 125 constituencies operate in the country, and voters voted in 6,478 polling stations.
"We had a total of 1,510 footages. Of these, 508 were those that were released on social networks, while 928 footages were presented by the election subjects. More than 500 videos didn't relate to the voting itself, and 1,510 videos covered 124 precincts of 34 electoral districts.
This is even a more positive result than we expected. In this regard, we can say that the election was held at a high level. Therefore, the number of appeals was also small," the official explained.
The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.
A total of 112,749 local observers were registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.
Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represented 25 political parties, while 371 were party members but were not nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates were affiliated with political parties.
