BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The Azerbaijani parliament will be represented by 11 political parties, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan Mazahir Panahov said during today’s CEC meeting in Baku, TurkicWorld reports.
He said that of the elected MPs, 81 have party affiliations.
The official noted that 25 out of 26 state-registered political parties took part in the snap parliamentary election.
The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.
A total of 112,749 local observers were registered, including over 65,000 representatives of political parties. There were 598 international observers from 51 organizations and 69 countries.
Among the 990 registered candidates, 305 represented 25 political parties, while 371 were party members but were not nominated by their parties. In total, 676 candidates were affiliated with political parties.
