BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11. The US Embassy in Azerbaijan has honored the memory of the victims of the September 11 terrorist attacks in the US, the Embassy's publication on X said, TurkicWorld reports.
Trend reports on Wednesday that this is stated in a publication on the official page of the embassy in social network X.
"Today, Ambassador Mark Libby and US Embassy staff gathered to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost in the 9-11 attacks in New York. The United States will always appreciate how Azerbaijan stood by our side and offered its assistance and support during this tragic moment in our history.," the publication reads.
To note, 2,977 people were killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, in the US. Of them, 246 were passengers of airplanes hijacked by terrorists, and 2,755 were people in the buildings into which the airplanes crashed.
