Hungarian PM thanks President Ilham Aliyev for efforts to stabilize situation in S.Caucasus

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 3. Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban has thanked President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his efforts to stabilize the situation in the South Caucasus at the 10th summit of heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana, TurkicWorld reports.

"I congratulate President Ilham Aliyev on his efforts to stabilize the situation in the region and carry out the reconstruction of Karabakh. The global developments of the past few months have been interesting, and I want to view them from the perspective of Turkic states," he noted. "European politics has been dominated by the dilemma of serious conflicts. The decisions made in these conflicts will have a significant impact on relations within the Turkic world and the relations of Turkic states with other countries."

The prime minister emphasized that in these challenging times, the global role of the Turkic Council (TURKSOY) is growing.

"Turkic states have contributed to the reduction of disputes, hazards, and escalation. This is the kind of strategy Hungary hopes to supplement through its membership in the Turkic Council," Orban added.

The 10th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS has started today in Astana.

Within the meeting, international documents in the fields of emergency response and metrology are expected to be signed. In addition, the Astana Act and the Declaration of the Astana Summit will be signed, as will a cooperative action plan for the implementation of the OTS transport communication program.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan's chairmanship of the OTS will be transferred to Kazakhstan.

This year, Uzbekistan chairs the Organization of Turkic States. The beginning of the chairmanship was marked by the OTS Summit in Samarkand, held under the slogan “A new era of Turkic civilization: on the way to common development and prosperity” in November last year.
