BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Alex Haditaghi, owner of Polish football club Pogon Szczecin, refused to negotiate with Maccabi Tel Aviv over two players, citing moral objections due to Israel’s actions in Gaza.
TurkicWorld reports that Haditaghi stated that football business cannot be separated from ethical considerations, highlighting Maccabi Tel Aviv’s history of racist anti-Arab chants and Israel’s “genocidal” actions.
He compared the moral responsibility today to what he would have felt dealing with Nazi Germany, insisting ethical standards must prevail over commercial interests.
