KAZAN, Russia, October 24. Russia advocates equal and indivisible security system formation in Eurasia, the country's President Vladimir Putin said at the first plenary session of the XVI BRICS Plus summit in Kazan today, TurkicWorld reports.
"Turning to the assessment of the overall situation in the world, I want to emphasize that the states represented here possess truly vast opportunities and resources, hold significant authority on the global stage, and actively apply these to genuinely contribute to global security and the promotion of sustainable development processes.
Many of our countries have put forward valuable initiatives in this context. Russia advocates for the idea of forming a system of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia on an inclusive and non-discriminatory basis," he also said.
According to Putin, the goal is to collectively ensure genuine stability and create conditions for the peaceful development of all states and peoples on the continent.
"Of course, it is symbolic that our meeting today takes place on the day of the United Nations. It was on October 24, 1945, that the UN Charter came into force, and its principles have constituted the foundation of interstate relations and international law for nearly eighty years. The global organization is called to continue playing a central role in maintaining peace and security," he added.
