BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Russia has condemned the recent escalation in hostilities between the United States and Iran, describing the renewed wave of attacks as a serious development with potentially far-reaching consequences.
“We regret the recent escalation surrounding Iran and are doing everything we can to reduce its intensity,” a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson told Al Jazeera.
The spokesperson described the developments in the Gulf region as a “terrible adventure” that had already resulted in serious consequences.
Moscow also said the renewed fighting confirmed its earlier concerns that the truce agreement had not been fully implemented. Russia's comments come amid heightened tensions in the region and growing international concern over the broader security and humanitarian consequences of the conflict.
