BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 24. Iran will not give up its right to respond to Israel for the murder of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas Politburo, Iran's new Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a telephone conversation with his colleagues from France and Great Britain, TurkicWorld reports.
According to the information, Araghchi said during a conversation with his French counterpart Stephane Sejourne that the assassination of Haniyeh threatens Iran's sovereignty.
He also added that Iran is ready to expand constructive relations with France.
In a conversation with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Araghchi said Iran does not want a major armed conflict to break out in the Middle East, but reaffirmed his country's right to respond to any act of aggression.
Lammy, in turn, called on Iran to play its role in reducing tensions in the Middle East region.
