BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 29. Iran has condemned the reported US-Saudi strikes on seven locations in Iraq, describing the attacks as a "clear aggression" against Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement, Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks constituted a "gross violation" of international law and alleged they were aimed at expanding the scope of regional conflict.
The ministry also expressed condolences over those it said were killed in the strikes and reaffirmed Iran's support for the Iraqi government and people.
According to the statement, Tehran holds the United States and its regional allies responsible for what it described as the "dangerous consequences" of the attacks.
The ministry characterized the strikes as "criminal, inhumane, and provocative" and accused Washington of escalating tensions in the region.
The United States and Saudi Arabia have not immediately responded to Iran's latest statement.
