BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. As Azerbaijan continues to strengthen and fully mobilise its potential, the country is once again facing what President Ilham Aliyev described as a “dirty media campaign” from the West.
President Ilham Aliyev made the remarks during a meeting in Baku with participants of international conferences.
The head of state said Azerbaijan is being deliberately targeted by negative coverage, claiming that articles containing falsehoods, slander and accusations against the country are published on a daily basis.
“As Azerbaijan grows stronger and, so to speak, fully activates its potential, a dirty media campaign is once again being waged against us from the West,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
The President added that Azerbaijan continues to face attempts to tarnish its international image through what he described as false and defamatory publications.
On September 15, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, members and observers of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States, co-organisers of the Yahya Bakuvi International Conference, and a delegation comprising members of the Supreme Religious Council of the Peoples of the Caucasus.
