Negotiations aim to end the war and secure Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon - Salam

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15 Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has said ongoing negotiations are aimed at ending the war and securing the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory.

Salam stressed that the diplomatic process is focused on restoring stability and protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty, with the withdrawal of Israeli forces remaining one of Beirut’s key objectives.

According to the Lebanese prime minister, negotiations are intended to create conditions for an end to hostilities and prevent further military escalation.

His remarks come amid continuing tensions between Lebanon and Israel and efforts to reach political and security arrangements capable of bringing the conflict to an end.
