BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 27. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov announced the results of the CSTO Collective Security Council meeting in a restricted format, TurkicWorld reports via Kabar.
At the beginning of his speech, he welcomed the distinguished guests and opened the plenary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
"At the restricted format meeting, we productively discussed wide range of issues. Open exchange of views took place on key aspects of regional and global security.
Mutual understanding was reached on all points of the session. At the same time, concrete steps were taken to counter modern security challenges and threats. Work was actively underway to strengthen the international authority of our organization and expand foreign policy coordination. Practical measures were implemented in the areas of military-economic and military-technical cooperation.
Number of major exercises were conducted, including joint maneuvers with the CSTO collective rapid response forces, "Interaction-2025," special reconnaissance exercise, "Search-2025," and a logistics exercise, "Echelon-2025," in the Republic of Belarus.
Furthermore, command and staff exercises with the Central Asian region's rapid deployment forces, "Rubezh-2025," were held in Tajikistan, as well as "Indestructible Brotherhood-2025," and special exercise involving the formation of CSTO radiation, chemical, and medical security, "Barrier-2025," in Tajikistan.
These and other events successfully ensured the coordination of the member states' armed forces and increased their readiness to carry out assigned missions. Operational cooperation between the competent authorities of the CSTO member states continued on identifying, preventing, and combating the use of information and communications technologies for terrorist and extremist purposes.
Overall, it can be noted that the organization's planned activities for 2025 have been successfully completed. At today's meeting, we summarized the work accomplished and identified the CSTO's current areas of activity for next year, setting corresponding objectives," the Kyrgyz President said.
The head of state also added that, in accordance with the adopted procedure, the next CSTO chairmanship will be transferred to the Russian Federation.
