Kyrgyzstan to allocate $400 mln to pay off external debt in 2024

Kabar. Kyrgyzstan will allocate $400 million to pay off external debt in 2024, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Zhaparov told during a working trip to Osh.

He said that over three years the country’s consolidated budget increased by 329.2 billion soms. According to the Ministry of Finance, the surplus in 2023 amounted to 13.5 billion soms.

“This surplus is one of the largest in our history. Next year we plan to achieve a budget of over 600 billion soms. To do this, the state must earn 58 billion soms per month, 1.9 billion soms per day, 80 million soms per hour. We are at the peak of payments on external debt.

Large amounts will be paid until 2030: in 2023 - 344 million, 2024 - 400 million, 2025 - 430 million, 2026 - 390 million. We are all in the same boat called “Kyrgyzstan”, so we need the work and contribution of everyone. We must work as one team,” Akylbek Zhaparov said.
