Bishkek, Dec. 1, 2023. / Kabar/. On November 30, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of a working visit to Dubai, held negotiations with Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Suheil Al-Mazroui.

The sides discussed issues of intensifying cooperation, in particular, in the trade, economic, investment and energy spheres.

The head of state thanked for the invitation to participate in the High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Sadyr Zhaparov noted that the UAE has advanced experience and initiatives in the fight against climate change and expressed confidence that the issues raised at the Summit will soon yield results.

He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan attaches great importance to the development of friendly relations with the UAE. In this context, the president noted that the signing of a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan, the Masdar company and the French company Electricité de France will open up very interesting prospects for cooperation in the field of hydropower.

Sadyr Zhaparov also focused on the fact that it would be good to coordinate in detail and identify joint projects that will be implemented in Kyrgyzstan in the near future.

The head of state emphasized that Kyrgyzstan has great energy potential, but today the percentage of development of water and energy potential is only 13%.

In this regard, the Kyrgyz president emphasized the need to widely use green technologies, introduce and develop renewable energy sources.

In turn, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE Suhail Al Mazrouei thanked the head of state for accepting the invitation to participate in the upcoming Summit and conveyed warm words of greeting on behalf of President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The minister touched upon in detail issues related to the implementation of joint projects in energy, hydropower and the development of renewable energy sources, in particular, with the Masdar company.

Suheil Al-Mazroui, thanking Sadyr Zhaparov for his support of this company, expressed confidence that the project will be successful and brings large investments to Kyrgyzstan. In addition, he indicated the readiness of the Dubai side to share its experience in the energy sector and provide the necessary consultations.

At the same time, he emphasized interest in implementing the plans within the framework of the Memorandum being signed with the Kyrgyz side as soon as possible. The minister added that the progress of the projects will be under his personal control.

In conclusion, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suheil Al Mazrouei noted his country's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in a wide range of areas.
