On May 19, 2026, the 4th International Kazakhstan Museum Congress, a large-scale cultural and scientific event, officially commenced at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The three-day event, which will continue until May 21, is organized with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in partnership with the Embassy of French Republic in Kazakhstan, and with grant support from the ALIPH Foundation and the European Union.
TurkicWorld reports the first part of the Congress program was dedicated to the national seminar-training titled ““E-Museum” Web Portal: Issues of Maintaining the State Catalogue and Digitization of Museum Collections”.
During the practical session, participants exchanged experience on modern principles of digital accounting for museum collections, the effective management of the state catalogue through the “E-Museum” portal, and advanced methods of 3D visualization of museum exhibits.
One of the key events of the day was the Round Table on “Museums of the Turkic World: Shared Heritage, Integration and Joint Projects.” Speaking at the panel session, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, emphasized the strategic importance of digital transformation in preserving the cultural heritage of Turkic peoples.
Professor Aktoty Raimkulova highlighted the indispensable role of artificial intelligence and digital development in the preservation, restoration, and promotion of cultural heritage.
Referring to the recent Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in the city of Turkistan, Mrs. Raimkulova stated that the Foundation fully supports the initiative proposed by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, to establish a special digital platform that would unite materials related to the history and culture of Turkic peoples.
The event brings together museum professionals from all regions of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of the Smithsonian Institution (USA), renowned experts, museum directors, and scholars from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.
