Donald Trump Hamas Gaza strip ceasefire Gaza Board of Peace Emergency Committee

Gaza Board of Peace calls for "actions, not promises" from Hamas

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The Gaza Board of Peace has called on Hamas to back its recent political announcement with concrete actions, following the movement's decision to dissolve the governing body that had administered the Gaza Strip for nearly two decades.

In a statement posted on X, the Board of Peace, which is backed by US President Donald Trump and his allies and does not include Palestinian representatives, said it had taken note of Hamas's announcement regarding the dissolution of the Emergency Committee in Gaza.

The board stated that its assessment would ultimately depend on practical steps rather than declarations, stressing that meaningful actions are needed to address the urgent humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza.

The statement came after Hamas announced the transfer of administrative authority to a committee of technocrats as part of arrangements linked to the US-brokered ceasefire.
