BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2. Several international airlines have begun restoring flights to parts of the Middle East as diplomatic efforts to end the US-Israel war on Iran continue, although widespread disruptions to regional and global air travel remain in place.
US carrier Delta Air Lines has suspended its Atlanta-Tel Aviv service until December 18. The airline plans to resume flights between New York and Tel Aviv on September 6, while the launch of its Boston-Tel Aviv route has been postponed indefinitely.
Air France has suspended flights to Tel Aviv until July 2, to Dubai until July 5, and to Beirut until July 9. Its Dutch partner KLM has extended the suspension of services to Riyadh, Dammam and Dubai until August 23.
Lufthansa and ITA Airways resumed flights to Tel Aviv on July 1. However, SWISS has postponed the resumption of its Tel Aviv services until August, while Brussels Airlines has suspended operations to the Israeli city until October 24. Lufthansa and SWISS will also continue suspending flights to Dubai until September 13.
In addition, Lufthansa Group airlines, including SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines, have extended the suspension of flights to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Riyadh, Erbil, Muscat and Tehran until October 24.
Air Canada has also cancelled flights to Tel Aviv and Dubai through October 2 as airlines continue to closely monitor the regional security situation.
