North Korea sees opportunity in Ukraine war for military gains

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 10. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has used the COVID-19 pandemic as a strategic moment to strengthen domestic control while seeking opportunities abroad. According to the New York Times, Pyongyang tightened restrictions on South Korean media consumption and reinforced state control over production and distribution.

TurkicWorld reports that following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, North Korea provided military support, with approximately 16,000 North Korean soldiers participating, which allowed them to test new weapons and gain experience in modern warfare, including drone operations.
