BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. France has imposed coordinated national sanctions over violence in the occupied West Bank in coordination with its allies, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said.
TurkicWorld reports that “together with our British, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, and Norwegian partners, we are today imposing new sanctions against those responsible for intensifying colonisation and violence in the occupied West Bank,” he said. France has barred Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, four leaders of settler organisations, and 21 violent settlers from entering the country.
Barrot added that Smotrich promotes annexation of the West Bank, creation of new settlements, recolonization of Gaza, and economic collapse of the Palestinian Authority, which has serious consequences for the Palestinian population.
