Trump says peace efforts are advancing despite Iran-Israel fighting

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. US President Donald Trump has expressed optimism about the prospects for ending the latest round of fighting between Iran and Israel, saying both sides are seeking a path toward a ceasefire.

TurkicWorld reports that in an early morning message posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump said negotiations aimed at ending the conflict are continuing and that progress is being made.

“Both sides, Israel and Iran, are looking to do an immediate ceasefire in final negotiations. Peace is proceeding subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way,” Trump wrote.

The US president also indicated that an existing blockade would remain in place until a final agreement is reached.

“The blockade will remain in place and in full force and effect until a final deal is reached and things should move quickly,” he added.

Trump’s comments come amid renewed military exchanges between Israel and Iran, while diplomatic efforts continue behind the scenes to prevent a broader regional escalation.
