BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Iran’s judiciary says it launched legal proceedings against 3,121 people for “cooperating with the enemy” TurkicWorld reports via aljazeera.
Judiciary spokesman Asghar Jahangir was quoted as saying by Iranian media those under prosecution are “traitors to the homeland and mercenaries” who collaborated with the US and Israel.
Jahangir said 2,406 of the individuals have been arrested and remain in custody, and about 1,000 indictments have so far been issued.
