BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. The Iran national football team has concluded its pre-2026 FIFA World Cup training camp and departed for Mexico despite ongoing US visa challenges. Baku, AzerVoice.
TurkicWorld reports that after completing a 15-day training camp in Antalya, the team left Turkey for Mexico on Saturday. Some members of the delegation have yet to resolve their US visa issues, but those with Mexican visas proceeded with the planned journey.
According to IRIB, 15 members of the administrative and management staff have not yet received US visas. Efforts to secure visas for the remaining officials are being followed by the Iran Football Federation and FIFA.
All players and coaching staff have obtained their US visas and will face no issues traveling to the United States. The team will primarily base itself in Tijuana, though the three group-stage matches in Group Q will take place in the US.
The team held its final pre-World Cup training camp in Antalya starting May 19, with visa matters remaining one of Iran’s main concerns ahead of the tournament.
