Uzbekistan shares number of foreign capital-run enterprises

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 12. The number of enterprises and organizations with foreign capital in Uzbekistan amounted to 14,349 as of June 2024, TurkicWorld reports.

As per data from Uzbekistan's Statistics Agency, the number of firms and organizations participating in foreign investments in the country decreased by 129 units over the previous month (14,478).

Russian corporations accounted for the largest number of enterprises in Uzbekistan (3,015 units), followed by China (2,667 units), Türkiye (1,850 units), Kazakhstan (1,100 units), and South Korea (711 units). The US has the fewest enterprises, with only 310 units.

Meanwhile, the number of enterprises and organizations (without dehkan and farms) operating in Uzbekistan amounted to 469,300 as of May 1. This figure is 3.9 percent less year-on-year (488,761 enterprises and organizations).

Among operating enterprises and organizations, 400,500 are small enterprises and microfirms.

A significant share of enterprises and organizations fell into the trade sector (32.9 percent). The sector of industry accounted for 13.7 percent; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries accounted for 7.2 percent.
