According to the information, the Dutch government released a program containing plans for the current term of office on September 13. In the section "International Security" of this program, the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation is mentioned as the "capture of Nagorno-Karabakh."
Azerbaijani diaspora organizations in the Netherlands protested in this regard. The Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis of Netherlands-Belgium, the Union of Azerbaijani Women of the Netherlands "Ana Vatan," the Association of Turkic Culture of the Netherlands, the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Benelux, the International Club of Azerbaijani Women, and the Azerbaijani-Dutch society "Odlar Yurdu" distributed a statement in connection with the biased position of the Dutch government.
The statement emphasizes that it is inadmissible to refer to Azerbaijan's liberation of its lands from occupation as the "capture of Nagorno-Karabakh" and that Azerbaijan has taken steps to restore its territorial integrity in full compliance with the norms and principles of international law. The statement also pointed out that there is no administrative or geographical unit called "Nagorno-Karabakh" in Azerbaijan and stressed the importance of each state and organization referring to the geographical names standardized by the relevant bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the internationally recognized territories of Azerbaijan and adopted within the framework of the UN Group of Experts on Geographical Names.
Diaspora organizations urged the Government of the Netherlands to follow an objective approach and refrain from steps that could negatively affect the country's relations with Azerbaijan.
