BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 30. Extraordinary parliamentary election will be held in Azerbaijan in three days and for the first time in the last 30 years voting will be held in the lands of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur and people from these regions will elect their representatives in their native land, which gives the election historical significance, the chairperson of the Marmara Group's Strategic and Social Research Foundation Akkan Suver told "Election 2024" Independent Media Center,TurkicWorld reports.
"Azerbaijan will host COP29 with a renewed parliament, which demonstrates commitment to a democratic parliamentary system and equality with developed Western countries," he noted.
On June 28, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree dissolving the sixth convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament and scheduling a snap election for September 1.
