BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31. Stellantis announced on Friday that it is recalling more than 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks worldwide due to a potential defect involving second-row seat belt anchor attachments.
The recall affects 2019–2026 Ram 1500 models that may have been manufactured with a second-row center or second-row driver-side seat belt buckle anchor that was not properly secured to the vehicle's body structure.
According to the automaker, the defect could reduce the effectiveness of the second-row seat belt system and increase the risk of injury to passengers in the event of a crash.
Stellantis said it is aware of one potentially related injury, but no fatalities have been reported in connection with the issue.
The recall covers approximately 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico, and about 75,000 vehicles in other markets.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified and asked to contact authorized dealers for an inspection. If necessary, dealers will properly secure the seat belt buckle anchor to the vehicle body at no cost to customers.
