BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. Food waste will be recycled at COP29, Head of COP29's Catering, Cleaning, and Waste Disposal Department Anar Zeynalov told reporters, TurkicWorld reports.
He pointed out that, in line with the event's setup, there are three steps to the food consumption dance.
"One of them is the sale of food through the portal; the country's pavilions have already started ordering. Preparations are already underway for them. For the first time in Azerbaijan, food waste will be recycled at the COP29 event. We are sorting waste for this reason.
Local products will be prioritized during the event," Zeynalov said.
In under two weeks, Azerbaijan will host COP29, the decision about which was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11 last year.
