BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. The project to build electricity transmission lines from mainland Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenian territory is ready, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijan Television in Nakhchivan.
The President noted that when Azerbaijan first proposed the idea and initiative of the Zangezur Corridor, the focus was primarily on the transport component.
“Of course, when we put forward the idea and initiative of the Zangezur Corridor, the transport segment was initially considered. However, today we look at it from a broader perspective,” President Ilham Aliyev said.
As an example, the President highlighted the electricity infrastructure project.
“The project for constructing electricity lines from the main part of Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan through Armenian territory is ready,” President Ilham Aliyev stated.
