BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 11. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Nakhchivan Industrial Park on August 11.
The information was released by the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan.
Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov briefed the President and the First Lady on the industrial park project.
It was reported that the industrial park was established by a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2024. The project includes preparing the territory for use and creating internal and external infrastructure, including electricity and heating systems, gas, water, communications, transport, production, administrative and social facilities.
Located in the southwestern part of Nakhchivan city, south of the Nakhchivan-Sadarak highway, the industrial park will cover an area of 310 hectares.
It was noted that negotiations are already underway with potential investors regarding the implementation of various projects within the industrial park.
Currently, Azerbaijan has eight operational industrial parks: Sumgayit Industrial Park, Mingachevir Industrial Park, Garadagh Industrial Park, Pirallahi Industrial Park, Aghdam Industrial Park, Hajigabul Industrial Park, “Araz Valley Economic Zone” Industrial Park and Balakhani Industrial Park.
In addition, preparations are underway to establish the Western Industrial Park in the administrative territories of Ganja city and Shamkir district, including obtaining technical requirements for infrastructure development.
A total of 184 residents are registered in Azerbaijan’s industrial parks, with 101 already operating. So far, residents have attracted more than 7.1 billion manats in investment and created over 11,500 jobs.
According to data as of July 1, 2026, industrial parks in Azerbaijan have produced goods worth 21.4 billion manats, of which 6.7 billion manats’ worth was exported.
