Saudi navy chief meets US naval commander to discuss maritime security

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 7. The Chief of the Royal Saudi Naval Staff, Lieutenant-General Muhammad al-Ghurairi, has received the commander of US Naval Forces Central Command, Vice Admiral Curt Renshaw, and his delegation in Saudi Arabia.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defence, the meeting focused on maritime cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United States, with particular attention to strengthening maritime security and promoting freedom of navigation in the region.

The discussions come amid heightened security concerns surrounding key waterways in the Middle East and growing regional tensions affecting maritime traffic and energy transportation.

The two sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between their naval forces to support regional maritime security and the safe movement of vessels.
