Qatar Investment Authority invests in Positron AI’s $875 million funding round

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 10. The Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has participated in Positron AI’s $875 million Series C financing, valuing the artificial intelligence hardware company at $5 billion.

The financing was co-led by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, Jim Clark and other investors. QIA had also participated in Positron AI’s Series B funding round in February 2026.

Positron AI develops hardware and software designed to make artificial intelligence inference — the process of running trained AI models — more cost- and energy-efficient.

The company’s technology is aimed at addressing growing constraints in AI infrastructure, particularly memory capacity, memory bandwidth and power consumption, as demand for AI agents, assistants and copilots increases.

Positron’s memory-first architecture is designed to reduce reliance on constrained high-bandwidth memory and advanced chip packaging supply chains while supporting deployment in both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centres.

The latest financing will support development and commercialisation of the company’s next-generation technologies, including the tapeout of Asimov, its next-generation silicon, and the production ramp-up of Titan, a multi-terabyte-memory AI inference system.

QIA said the investment reflects its continued focus on innovative companies contributing to the next phase of artificial intelligence adoption and long-term technological growth.
