BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. Anthropic said on Wednesday that it is combining the chat and Cowork features of its Claude AI assistant into a single interface, while also introducing new tools for creating documents and presentations.
The company said Claude Design, its visual work tool, will also be integrated into the main Claude interface. According to Anthropic, the changes follow user feedback expressing frustration over having to select different tools depending on the task.
Under the new system, users will no longer need to manually switch between separate Claude tools. Anthropic said its AI assistant will automatically determine which capabilities are required and deploy them based on the task being performed.
The move comes amid growing competition in AI-powered workplace software. OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work in July, combining chatbot capabilities with tools designed to carry out broader work tasks, as major AI companies compete for enterprise customers and users seeking AI assistance without specialised technical skills.
Anthropic is also launching Claude Docs and Claude Slides in beta. The new features will allow users to create documents, presentations and visual designs within a single conversation.
Claude will support exporting documents to Google Docs and Microsoft Word, while presentations will be exportable to Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF formats.
According to Anthropic, the update will initially roll out to Pro and Max subscribers across web, desktop and mobile platforms over the coming weeks.
The company said Team and Free users will receive access at a later stage.
