BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. A vessel belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) was targeted by a missile while transiting the Strait of Hormuz earlier today, according to the UAE's state-run WAM news agency.
The report said the incident did not result in any injuries.
"The attack did not result in any injuries and the situation was brought under control," WAM reported.
No further details were immediately provided about the vessel, the extent of any material damage or the origin of the missile.
The incident comes amid heightened security concerns over commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important route for global energy supplies.
