BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25.Several Russian regions continue to face fuel supply difficulties, with the most severe shortages reported in parts of Siberia, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Saturday, according to Russian news agencies.
Russian authorities have introduced a series of measures aimed at stabilizing the domestic fuel market after repeated Ukrainian drone attacks on oil refineries disrupted production, leading to gasoline shortages and higher fuel prices in several regions.
According to the Interfax news agency, Novak said Russia will extend its ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year in an effort to ensure sufficient domestic supplies.
At the same time, the government plans to lift restrictions on diesel exports as market conditions improve and fuel availability gradually recovers.
Novak also said that Kazakhstan could provide additional petroleum products to Russia if necessary. According to the Vesti television channel, the two countries are prepared to expand cooperation to help address supply shortages.
Industry sources reported earlier this month that Kazakhstan shipped its first cargo of gasoline to Russia in July, delivering approximately 1,000 metric tons to a region in central Russia.
Russian officials continue to monitor the fuel market closely as authorities seek to prevent further supply disruptions and stabilize prices ahead of the autumn season.
