BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. Jordan has strongly condemned the escalation of attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank after four people were killed in incidents reported on Friday.
In a statement posted on X, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Ambassador Fuad al-Majali reaffirmed the kingdom's "absolute rejection" of what it described as attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinians.
The ministry said the attacks represent a continuation of what it called the Israeli government's extremist policies and illegal measures in the occupied West Bank, which, according to Jordan, contribute to rising violence and undermine efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement based on the two-state solution.
Jordan also held Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for the attacks and their consequences.
According to the statement, Ambassador al-Majali called on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by pressuring Israel to stop settler violence, hold those responsible accountable and prevent impunity for such acts.
Amman reiterated its longstanding support for a two-state solution and stressed that continued violence in the occupied Palestinian territories threatens regional stability and prospects for lasting peace.
