BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 24. Israeli human rights organization Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHRI) has condemned an Israeli military raid on the Nablus Specialized Hospital in the occupied West Bank, warning that the operation has disrupted access to emergency medical care.
In a statement published on X, the medical rights group said the military operation, combined with extensive road closures imposed after recent deadly violence in the area, has prevented ambulances and emergency medical teams from reaching patients in need.
PHRI argued that the restrictions have severely affected healthcare services, particularly emergency treatment, and called for immediate measures to guarantee unhindered medical access.
According to the organization, a woman in labor was unable to reach the hospital on Friday and was forced to give birth in her village without the medical assistance normally required during childbirth.
The organization described the combination of military restrictions and increasing settler violence as a form of "collective punishment."
PHRI also alleged that settler violence has intensified with the support and protection of the Israeli military and state authorities, while criticizing what it described as years of international inaction regarding developments in the occupied West Bank.
The group urged the international community to take immediate action to ensure that ambulances, medical personnel and emergency responders can move freely and continue providing essential healthcare services.
