Israel Lebanon Middle East ceasefire Lebanon-Israel Tensions

Israeli shelling targets southern Lebanese village amid ongoing tensions

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 13, An Israeli shell has struck the village of Kfar Shouba in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh governorate, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.

The incident follows reports of intermittent Israeli artillery fire targeting areas including Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Kfar Tebnit in the same governorate.

Despite a declared ceasefire, Israel has continued carrying out attacks in Lebanon ahead of scheduled Lebanon-Israel talks set to take place on Tuesday in Rome, Italy.

According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, Israeli military operations launched since March 2 have killed more than 4,300 people and wounded over 12,200 others.

The latest escalation has raised concerns over the stability of the ceasefire agreement and the prospects for diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border.
