Hamas delegation arrives in Cairo for ceasefire talks

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 30. A Hamas delegation has arrived in Cairo to hold talks with Egyptian officials and mediators on the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, the Palestinian group said.

According to Hamas, the delegation is headed by the movement's leader in the occupied West Bank, Zaher Jabarin.

Senior Hamas official Taher al-Nunu said the delegation will meet Egyptian officials to finalize the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

He stated that the group's top priority is to stop what Hamas described as escalating Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, including daily killings and targeted assassinations.

Al-Nunu also said Hamas seeks to ensure Israel's commitment to allowing the entry of humanitarian and reconstruction materials into Gaza, including supplies needed to rebuild hospitals, bakeries and critical infrastructure.

According to the statement, the talks are also expected to address the implementation of the remaining provisions of the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement.
