Trump urges Netanyahu to act more responsibly regarding Lebanon

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 16. US President Donald Trump has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must show greater responsibility in relation to developments in Lebanon, amid ongoing regional tensions.

TurkicWorld reports that speaking about US-Israel relations, Trump emphasized the close alliance between the two countries, stating that without the United States, Israel would not exist in its current form. He added: “Without me there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did.”

Despite describing his relationship with Netanyahu as “great,” Trump suggested that the Israeli leader should exercise more caution and responsibility regarding actions linked to Lebanon, where cross-border tensions have remained high.

His remarks come at a sensitive moment for Middle East diplomacy, as the United States continues to manage the implementation of the Iran-US agreement alongside ongoing security concerns involving Israel, Lebanon and Hezbollah.

The comments highlight both the strength of US-Israel ties and the increasing pressure from Washington for restraint in regional military activity, particularly in areas where escalation risks remain high.
