BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the memorandum of understanding reached between the United States and Iran, describing it as an important step toward strengthening security, stability and economic prosperity across the Middle East.
TurkicWorld reports that in a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of full compliance with the agreement and called for an immediate and comprehensive end to hostilities throughout the region. The ministry stressed the need to respect state sovereignty, uphold the principles of good neighbourliness and adhere strictly to international law.
The UAE also highlighted the importance of protecting maritime routes and preserving freedom of international navigation, including ensuring the uninterrupted flow of commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most strategically significant waterways.
According to the ministry, successful implementation of the agreement would contribute to greater regional and international security, stability and economic growth.
The statement also praised the diplomatic efforts of US President Donald Trump and expressed hope that negotiations would continue to build on the current momentum and deliver sustainable long-term results for the region.
