BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has welcomed the agreement reached between Iran and the United States, thanking both countries for ensuring that Lebanon was included in the framework of the deal.
TurkicWorld reports that in a statement published on the official page of the Amal Movement, Berri expressed his appreciation to Tehran and Washington for insisting on the inclusion of a binding provision aimed at ending Israeli military actions across Lebanese territory. He described the measure as a crucial step toward safeguarding Lebanon’s national interests and stability.
Berri said he hopes the agreement will help preserve Lebanon’s sovereignty over its entire territory and prevent the country from being drawn into further regional tensions. He also warned against what he described as attempts by the Israeli political leadership under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to deepen instability in the region.
The veteran Lebanese politician additionally praised the diplomatic efforts of Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, stating that their contributions played a significant role in securing the agreement. According to Berri, the deal could help establish a stronger foundation for security and stability across the Middle East, including Lebanon.
