Israeli strikes kill 29 Lebanese army personnel since March, minister says

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. At least 29 members of the Lebanese armed forces and security services have been killed in Israeli strikes since fighting between Israel and Hezbollah resumed on March 2, Lebanese Information Minister Paul Morcos has said.

TurkicWorld reports that according to Morcos, the casualties include three police officers, one member of the General Security Directorate, and 13 personnel from the State Security agency.

The announcement comes two days after an Israeli air strike targeted a vehicle in southern Lebanon, killing three members of the Lebanese army, including a brigadier general and a captain. A member of the Lebanese parliament’s security team was also killed in the attack.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reports that a total of 3,613 people have been killed across the country since the conflict escalated.
