BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. An Israeli Merkava tank has targeted the town of Arnoun in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency.
It was not immediately clear whether the attack caused any casualties or property damage.
The incident comes as Lebanese leaders continue to call for an end to what they describe as the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon and for the full implementation of the ceasefire, amid reports of continued Israeli shelling and demolitions in the area.
According to the figures cited in the report, Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon have killed at least 4,386 people and wounded 12,407 others since March 2.
Israeli forces have also occupied up to 600 square kilometres of Lebanese territory extending as far as the Litani River, according to the report.
