BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. Former Israeli diplomat Alon Pinkas warns that Israel has no coherent strategy for Lebanon, and that its stated goal of destroying Hezbollah cannot be achieved without occupying the entire country.
TurkicWorld reports that Pinkas criticized Israel’s approach as impractical and morally questionable. He explained that creating a security zone in southern Lebanon has been tried twice before, with no tangible results.
While diplomatic negotiations occur between Israeli and Lebanese officials, the real challenge lies in Hezbollah, making this a recurring and cyclical conflict every few years.
