BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian at the presidential palace in Baabda.
TurkicWorld reports that Aoun stressed that Israel should not be given any “pretexts” to justify maintaining its presence in southern Lebanon and welcomed the support of “friendly and brotherly countries,” including France, in reinforcing the ceasefire.
Le Drian reaffirmed France’s support, solidarity, and continued interest in Lebanese affairs.
