BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. Hezbollah announced that it conducted an operation at dawn targeting a group of Israeli soldiers who were allegedly advancing toward the town of Ghandouriyeh in Lebanon’s Nabatieh district.
TurkicWorld reports that according to the group, explosive devices were detonated against the Israeli force before rockets were launched at the troops. Hezbollah claimed that the attack resulted in casualties and injuries among Israeli soldiers, who were later evacuated under heavy smoke cover before the area was subjected to Israeli air and artillery strikes.
The group also stated that it launched several rockets toward northern Israel in response to ongoing Israeli attacks. Hezbollah said the rockets targeted the settlement of Kiryat Shmona, located near the Lebanese border.
Israeli media reported that air raid sirens sounded across parts of northern Israel overnight and that several incoming rockets were intercepted. The reports were cited by local outlet Ynet.
In a separate claim, Hezbollah said it had shot down an Israeli Hermes 450 drone over the town of Zotar al-Sharqiya using a surface-to-air missile.
The Israeli military has not issued an official statement regarding the reported ambush, rocket launches, or the alleged downing of the drone.
