BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 29. Palestinian officials have denounced Israel's continued military actions in the Gaza Strip, describing them as violations of international law and of agreements and understandings related to the ceasefire.
TurkicWorld reports.that in a statement, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry called on mediating and guarantor countries, particularly the United States, to take immediate action and pressure Israel to halt what it described as crimes against Palestinian civilians.
The ministry also criticized recent remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the expansion of Israeli control over 70 percent of the Gaza Strip.
According to the statement, such comments represent a violation of US President Donald Trump's vision, a serious breach of the foundations of the ceasefire, and an attempt to undermine international efforts aimed at ending hostilities, preventing forced displacement and advancing a political solution based on Palestinian statehood and the right to self-determination.
The ministry further stated that more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza during the period covered by the ceasefire as a result of ongoing Israeli strikes.
Palestinian officials also warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis, citing closed border crossings and severe restrictions on the delivery of humanitarian assistance into the territory.
